SHADOW followspots use the sophisticated electronics and micro mechanics technology of intelligent spotlights, wich are now widely used both in both theatrical and mobile applications. With its thorough going knowledge of the needs of these professional users and its mastery of avant-garde technology, Clay Paky has been able do design Shadow with all characteristics essential for a professional followspot, plus a whole range of innovative features.

Electronic Short Throw model, for a range of differen uses. The power and brightness characteristics of this model make it particularly suited to television and cinema use. Thanks to its reduced size and compact form it is hightly recommended as a truss-mount followspot. A system of interchangeable lenses (normal or optional wide-angle) gives it excellent use characteristics (luminosity >1000 lux) within a range of 5 to 25 meters.

Shadow QS followspots, as well as being controlled from their built-in panel, can also be remote controlled. Any type of external control desk can be used, as Shadow accepts all worl-standard communication protocols, i.e. analog 0-10V, digital RS232 and DMX 512. The contol, therefore, is not limited by a customised protocol; more than one Shadow con be controlled simultaneously; the dip switch system of each spotlight, allows the lights to be addressed individually or in parallel. If the external desk has a memory, scenes and chases can be programmed for individual Shadows or for the controlled set of spotlights. There are a number of different control options.
Controlling one Shadow QS only
- Control from the built-in control panel (stand alone).
- Total control from the remote external desk, connected to the followspot via digital or analog signal (instead of the built-in panel).
- Both local and remote control. The built-in panel is connected up normally; the remote desk is connected to the spotlight analog input.
- Simultaneous control of all followspots from one remote control desk. Connect the first followspot and all other units in a chain to the desk via the digital in/out sokets. All the functions will be controlled from the remote desk according to the projector addresses.
- Simultaneous parallel control of more than one spotlight, from a single built-in control panel. Connect the first spotlight to the others in a chain via the digital in/out sockets. The control panel of the first spotlight acts as a controller for the other lights, opereating them simultaneously, with identical functioning.
